Let’s wrap up July with a classic Pacific Northwest Sunday on the water. On Sunday, July 26th, the Spartan Dive Team is hosting a casual, "meet us there" dive day at the Sunrise Dive Park on the Hood Canal.
They say that nothing is truly lost until your mother can’t find it. In the Pacific Northwest, however, we say that nothing is truly lost until it drops off a rental kayak and plunges into the depths. If you have ever wanted to turn your scuba certification into a highly lucrative, entirely unauthorized underwater lost-and-found department, this is the excursion you have been waiting for.
Join the Maritime Archaeological Society (MAS) and Spartan SCUBA at Sunrise Resort on Saturday, August 1st (0800–1400) as we take baseline offset and trilateration skills out of the practice zone and apply them to actual underwater boats and artifacts. We’re adding an underwater photography challenge to capture clear, identifiable documentation under real-world conditions. Non-divers and surface crew are welcome for shore support, data logging, and coordinating artifact sketches!

Why wait for Saturday to start your weekend? We’re heading up to Sunrise for a Friday dive day to beat the weekend rush. Come out for a couple of relaxed shore dives, enjoy the fantastic visibility of the Canal, and swap stories on the shore afterward.
