START? How about TREATS?
START is the acronym, nay mantra for every decompression and beyond diver. It is supposed to be a brain trigger to help remember the key steps to follow before departing on a deeper or more complex dive. START stands for; S-drills, Team, Air, Route, and Tables. Dispelling the Tech Myth
Last weekend I was coming up out of a quick 40 minute dive when a Divemaster candidate from another shop quipped, “I thought tech divers were supposed to stay down longer!” I cringed and blew it off on the outside, but deep inside I churned.
