As a certified SDI and ERDI Instructor Trainer facility, we offer a streamlined, professional, and supportive evaluation environment for your Instructor Evaluation Course. We accommodate your schedule—whether you are looking for an “I’m ready tomorrow” fast-track or want to plan for next month. Our goal is to ensure you feel prepared, relaxed, and ready to demonstrate instructional-level excellence.

Course Prerequisites
Before scheduling your evaluation date, candidates must provide proof of the following:
- For SDI Candidates: Successful completion of the SDI Instructor Development Course (IDC).
- For ERDI Candidates: Successful completion of the ERDI Instructor Development Course (IDC).
- All Candidates: Proof of current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Provider certifications (where local law permits).
Evaluation Requirements
During the Instructor Evaluation Course, you will be expected to deliver clear, instructional-level presentations. Evaluation criteria are structured based on your target agency:
SDI Instructor Candidates
- One (1) Academic Presentation*
- One (1) Complete Confined Water Presentation*
- One (1) Complete Open Water Presentation*
- The SDI Instructor Exam may be required at the discretion of the Instructor Trainer
*Note: Academic, confined, and open water topics will be assigned by your Instructor Trainer.
ERDI Instructor Candidates
- One (1) Classroom Presentation
- One (1) Confined Water Presentation
- One (1) Open Water Presentation
- Successful completion of the ERDI Instructor Examination

This exceptional cold-water environment allows us to complete your entire practical Instructor Evaluation Course in a single, focused day trip to Hoodsport, WA. We can also break it up in to multiple days over a weekend stay locally, using our pool in Sandy, Oregon.

Earning your credentials opens up a world of professional teaching possibilities.
- As an SDI Open Water Instructor, you immediately qualify to teach: Open Water SCUBA Diver, Discovery SCUBA, Snorkeler, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster. You can also administratively upgrade to teach critical core specialties like Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation, and Night/Limited Visibility.
- As an ERDI Instructor, you stand at the forefront of Public Safety Diving, qualified to train the next generation of public safety divers, shore support personnel, and specialized recovery teams who respond when duty calls.
