Description
This course allows a certified diver, who has previous warm water diving experience, to develop the knowledge and skills required to confidently dive in a cold-water environment. It addresses the different types of equipment required to dive in cold water as well as the challenges and risks associated with cold water diving.
Who This Course is For
The Cold Water Diver course is specifically designed for the fair-weather diver who typically only dives in warm, tropical locations. Under the watchful eye of your instructor you will safely learn how different gear considerations, coupled with more weight, can make or break your dive experience in a controlled manner.

Required Skill Performance & Graduation Requirements
Confined water training is not required but highly recommended.
- Proper donning of hood and gloves
- In-water review of skills wearing hood and gloves, including;
- Regulator recovery and clearing
- Mask removal, replacement, and clearing
- Removal and replacement of BCD at the surface and under water
- Removal and replacement of weight system at surface and under water
- Air sharing with buddy
- Buoyancy and finning techniques
