Sunrise Dive Park – July 10th

Join the Crew: Sunrise Dive Park Work & Splash Day!
Ready to put your diving skills to good purpose? We are heading back to the Hood Canal on Friday, July 10th, for a dedicated day of underwater park development and maintenance at the spectacular Sunrise Resort in Hoodsport.
As the stewards of this underwater playground, we’re inviting local divers to join the team. Whether you’re a seasoned technical diver, a public safety diver looking to practice task loading, or a recreational diver who wants to help build and maintain a premier local site, this is your chance to make a real impact on our local diving ecosystem. We’ll be managing park logistics, checking site lines, and doing the necessary underwater grunt work to keep the park pristine—with plenty of time to enjoy the water between tasks.
Sunrise Resort offers an incredible, diver-focused setup that makes splashing into the Canal seamless, ensuring our work crew stays comfortable and gear stays dialed in.
About the Sunrise Dive Park
Nestled along a pristine stretch of the Hood Canal, the Sunrise Dive Park is a dedicated underwater development project designed by divers, for divers. From shallow training flats to deep, technical walls dropping past 100 feet, the park features a diverse marine ecosystem home to giant Pacific octopuses, wolf eels, and vibrant anemone fields. Our ongoing mission as stewards of the park is to build out clean navigation lines, secure training platforms, and structured marine habitats. Every work dive directly improves the safety, accessibility, and preservation of this premier Pacific Northwest site.
Crew & Diver Amenities Include:
- Purpose-Driven Diving: Direct involvement in shaping and maintaining the dive park.
- Gear Infrastructure: Dedicated gear rinse basins and a secure drying room.
- Easy Access: Stout stairs leading directly into the water for seamless beach entries and exits.
- On-Site Tank Fills: Fast air refilling right on the property so we can keep the work moving without hauling an army of extra cylinders down the highway.
- Shore Facilities: Access to waterfront picnic areas, BBQs, and the resort’s hot tub to unwind and decompress after a solid day of work.
Standard Sunrise Dive Park and Resort Fees:
Because this is a day-use event for non-overnight guests, standard resort facility rates apply directly to the venue (plus Washington State and local taxes):
- Day-Use Site Pass: $20* per person (gives full access to the beach, grounds, and shore facilities).
- On-Site Cylinder Fills: $10* per tank (Air).
*Note: All resort fees are subject to Washington State and local sales tax.
Pack up your kit, bring some heavy-duty gloves, and toss some food in the cooler for the grill. There is no formal registration fee for the event itself—just show up ready to work, dive, and build something great together.
See you on the beach at the Sunrise Dive Park & Splash event!
