Whether you’re coming up for a single day of fun diving or spending the entire weekend with us\, we’ve got a fantastic schedule of diving\, training\, and community lined up. \n📅 Weekend Schedule\n\nFriday\, October 16: Open Fun Diving all day!\nSaturday\, October 17:\n\n08:00 – 14:00: Scheduled Course Dives & Instruction\n14:00 – Late: Open Fun Diving\n\n\nSunday\, October 18: Early morning fun dive\, followed by gear cleaning\, packing\, and heading home.\n\n🤿 Training & Course Dives\nAll course dives must be pre-scheduled and confirmed with an instructor prior to booking to verify instructor availability. \n🐙 Underwater Highlights & Exposure Gear Recommendations\n\nWater Conditions: Expect our typical cold-water PNW environment with water temperatures sitting right around 51°F.\nExposure Protection: Appropriate thermal protection is strongly encouraged—a drysuit (with warm undergarments) or a thick 7mm wetsuit with hood and gloves is recommended for full-day and multi-day diving.\nMarine Life & Features: Keep an eye out along the seawall and slopes for Giant Pacific Octopus\, wolf eels\, colorful plumose anemones\, rockfish\, sea lemons\, and rich local life!\n\n🏨 Accommodations & Resort Fees\n\nSpartan Mini-Dorm: We have 3 beds available in our mini-dorm! DESCRIPTION:🌊 Holding Down the Fort: October Fun Diving & Maintenance Week at Sunrise Resort!\nDates: Tuesday\, October 27th – Friday\, October 30th \nLocation: Sunrise Resort\, Hood Canal (24520 US-101\, Hoodsport\, WA 98548) \nType: No-Training Week – Fun Diving Only! \nShawn and Diana are out of town\, so I’m holding down the fort at Sunrise Resort! I’ll be taking care of the property and running diver services from Tuesday\, October 27th through Friday\, October 30th. \nThis is strictly a no-training week\, meaning it’s all about fun diving\, hanging out\, and enjoying the water together. \nWhat’s on the Agenda?\n\nUnderwater Park Work: I’ll be spending time diving and working on enhancements to our underwater park. Come check out the progress\, explore the site layout\, and enjoy the playground we’ve been shaping beneath the surface!\nDeep Boat Checks: I’ll also be heading down to the 170-foot and 180-foot depths to check on the boats.\n\nImportant Logistics & Tank Status\n\nCompressor Status: We are currently unclear on the status of the resort compressor. Until we have a confirmed update\, please bring extra cylinders or plan to hit up YSS for your tank fills. I’ll keep this page updated as soon as details change!\nResort Amenities: Please note that resort amenities are currently limited while Shawn and Diana are away and the property continues its mid-remodel updates. Plan accordingly for your surface intervals and meals.\n\nConditions & What to Bring\n\nConditions: Expect the classic\, crisp Hood Canal jade pulse—serene\, beautiful\, and teeming with Pacific Northwest marine life.\nExposure Gear: Water temperatures will be brisk this time of year\, so make sure to bring appropriate thermal protection (drysuits or thick wetsuits\, hoods\, and gloves) to stay comfortable on those longer or deeper fun dives.\nWhat You Might See: Keep an eye out for vibrant sea life nestled along the wrecks\, unique structure in the park\, and the incredible visibility and tranquility that makes the Hood Canal the cradle of Pacific Northwest diving.\n\nRSVP Tickets (Free)\nPlease reserve your free ticket below so we can keep track of headcount for the week!
