SUMMARY:ChO2ptima Training - Shop Closed
DESCRIPTION:📢 Shop Notice: Heading to Florida for Next-Gen Training\nSpartan SCUBA will be closed from Sunday\, August 23rd through Saturday\, August 29th. \nThe Spartan brass are heading down to Gainesville\, Florida\, for a grueling\, 5-day intensive Closed Circuit Rebreather (CCR) course. This isn’t a vacation—it’s a deep dive into advanced decompression procedures on air diluent\, ensuring our team brings the absolute highest level of technical dive expertise back to the Pacific Northwest. \n⏱️ From the 1800s to Today: The Silent Evolution\nRebreather tech isn’t actually new. The very first workable oxygen rebreathers were built back in the late 1800s for submarine escape and military stealth. But back then\, they were a dangerous game of guesswork. Early divers had to grapple with erratic gas mixtures\, crude chemical scrubbers\, and zero real-time feedback on what they were actually breathing. \nFast forward to today\, and the technology has completely transformed. Modern electronically controlled CCRs (eCCRs) utilize redundant digital voting logic and advanced oxygen sensors to monitor every single breath\, maintaining a perfect\, automated partial pressure of oxygen (ppO2) throughout the dive. The danger has been replaced by precision engineering. \n🦈 The Gear: The Dive Rite ChO2ptima (Chest Mount)\nFor this evolution\, we are training on the Dive Rite ChO2ptima—affectionately known as the Choptima—and it is a total game-changer for technical and mission-driven diving. \nWhat makes the Choptima standout in modern tech diving? \nUltimate Versatility: Because it’s chest-mounted\, it clips right onto our existing harnesses. We can run it seamlessly with sidemount\, back-mounted doubles\, or a single tank without rewriting our entire gear configuration. \n\nIncredibly Low Work of Breathing (WOB): The breathing loop is one of the shortest on the market. With the dual 3-liter chest counterlungs sitting right at the lung centroid\, breathing underwater feels completely effortless\, regardless of orientation.\nRedundant Brains: Powered by advanced Shearwater DiveCAN electronics\, a Petrel controller\, and a heads-up display (HUD) tracking four independent oxygen sensors.\nScrubber Flexibility: It runs either standard loose granular CO2 absorbent or the foolproof MicroPore ExtendAir solid cartridges\, backed up by dual internal water traps.\nStreamlined for Action: Weighing just 14.4 pounds dry\, it packs down into a carry-on but is rugged enough for tight restrictions and heavy-duty environments.\n\n🚀 Massive News for the Pacific Northwest Tech Community\nIn the rebreather world\, the rules are ironclad: you have to be certified to dive it before you can sell it. \nOnce we successfully wrap up this intensive training evolution\, Spartan SCUBA will officially become an authorized dealer for the ChO2ptima! We will be fully locked and loaded to carry full units\, replacement parts\, and pieces directly out of our shop. We’re not just expanding our knowledge; we’re bringing the premier chest-mounted CCR support directly to local divers. \nMark Your Calendars: \n\nShop Closed: August 23 – August 29\, 2026\nNormal Hours Resume: Monday\, August 31\, 2026\n\nGot gear to pick up or fills needed before we roll out? Make sure to drop by the shop before Saturday\, August 22nd!

SUMMARY:Giant Week of Diving
DESCRIPTION:🤿 The Ultimate Sunrise Sweep: One Giant Week of Diving & Training\nMark your calendars! Spartan SCUBA is heading up to Sunrise Resort on Hood Canal for an extended\, action-packed dive week from Sunday\, September 20th through Saturday\, September 26th\, 2026. \nWe’re shaking up the schedule this month. Instead of splitting our efforts between an early-month beginner weekend and a late-month technical push\, we are mashing them together into one massive\, week-long diving event. Whether you’re looking to knock out your very first open water checkouts\, dial in your buoyancy\, or push into technical depths\, HQ will be on-site and operational for seven straight days. \nRain\, Snow\, Comet\, or Shine: We’ll Be There\nWhen Spartan sets a date on the calendar\, we mean it. Come rain\, squall\, sudden snow\, or celestial impact\, our crew will be on the beach every single day. \nEach morning\, Spartan leadership will be dropping and securing the dive floats for the entire site. These lines aren’t just for our shop classes—they’re set up to support visiting clubs\, buddy pairs\, and independent divers sharing the water with us. If you’re on-site\, our team will be there to offer surface support\, answer questions about entry conditions\, and help you finalize whatever course certifications you’re currently wrapping up. \nFrom the “Open Water Guppy” to the 180-Foot “Dunk-N-Plunker”\nThe best part about combining our training tracks into a single week is the incredible energy on the beach. You’ll have brand-new divers working on basic mask skills sharing surface interval stories with trimix tech divers gearing up for deep wall runs. \nWe are offering every level of training and recreational diving under the sun throughout the week: \n\nOpen Water Checkouts: Perfect for our newer divers getting comfortable with real-world Pacific Northwest cold-water conditions.\nAdvanced & Specialty Training: Navigation\, night diving\, peak performance buoyancy\, and drysuit orientations.\nRescue & Leadership Drills: Real-time scenario practice and skill refinement for current and prospective dive leaders.\nTechnical & Deep Operations: For the seasoned “dunk-n-plunkers” looking to work the deep drops\, test equipment configurations\, and log targeted bottom time down to 180 feet.\n\nIf you have a specific course requirement you need signed off\, let us know in advance so we can align instructor schedules! \n🏕️ Know Before You Go: Revised Sunrise Amenities\nFor those planning to camp or spend multiple days on-site\, please keep in mind the updated site amenities list for Sunrise Resort: \n\nStaging & Beach Access: Outstanding shore entry with easy access to depths.\nSurface Support: Spartan dive floats deployed daily.\nRestrooms: On-site facilities available for day-users.\nHot Showers: NOT AVAILABLE! (Lol—consider this your official heads-up! Pack warm layers\, bring a thermos of hot water for drysuit rinses\, and prepare for classic PNW ruggedness).\n\nHow to Join Us\nYou don’t need to commit to all seven days to participate! Drop in for a single day\, stack a two-day weekend\, or camp out for the full stretch with the crew. \n\nWhen: Sunday\, Sept 20 – Saturday\, Sept 26\, 2026\nWhere: Sunrise Resort\, Hood Canal\nWho: Open to all Spartan students\, certified divers\, tech teams\, and visiting buddies.\n\nGet your tanks filled\, inspect your gear\, and touch base with HQ if you need rental gear or course sign-offs lined up ahead of time. See you on the beach! \n🏨 Need a Room for the Week?\nIf tent camping or roughing it isn’t your style\, Sunrise Resort offers great waterfront rooms and lodging options right on site. \n\nBook Through Spartan: We can help facilitate room accommodations for our divers to keep the team coordinated. Contact HQ directly to see what we have set aside for the week!\nBook Direct: Prefer to manage your own booking? You can reach out to Sunrise Resort directly to secure a room.\n\nFor full event details\, site maps\, and updates as we get closer to September\, head over to the Spartan Specific Sunrise Page!
